Artist Statement

Objects are conscious bodies with their own voices. Emotional depth; longing, nostalgia, frustration, anger, and tranquility are paramount in my work. I use graphic notation, instrument building, circuitry, programming, sculpture, fiber arts, and poetry, both within solo creations and collaborations.

My performances are intuitive and tactile, generating tangible resonance. I experiment with repetition and monotony, restraint, harsh and uncomfortable sounds. I simmer and sting, both in the context of acoustic and electronic instruments, including cello, MaxMSP, synthesizer, pedals, and objects; found and created.

My work is visceral, intrinsic, boiling over.
